Nowhere, however, does it say that God picked out a spunky brunette whom he's waiting to spring on you at the right moment. When it comes to God, I'm pretty careful about saying what he does or doesn't do.
But I do know this—if you rely on this idea too much, your dating life will get really confusing.
Would love to hear your opinions/thoughts on dating in today's society as a single christian. Any other christian singles out there struggling with the conflicting issue of obeying the bible but still dealing with the pressures of sex.

There are plenty of them, but let's focus on what I believe are the top five myths that make dating harder for Christian men.
Myth #1: "God has one woman picked out for you to marry.
A few years ago I decided to take a hiatus from dating to regain focus of my life as a single woman.
Partly because we use a lot of words like servant and leader interchangeably and I’m not so sure that’s helpful. Now Jesus was indeed the greatest leader in history. This is a guy who had no army, no land, no money, no committee, no title, no political office etc.
He had a three year public life, lived in a small geographical area and really only talked to a few thousand people, most of whom also had none of the afore mentioned advantages, was executed and yet changed the world and we are still talking about it 2000 years later.

After this realization, I decided to do some soul searching to really understand why I was celibate, and to decide whether or not I would stand firm on this decision. I didn’t take the necessary time to learn who they were and develop a close and personal connection with them for the people they were before I developed a connection with them sexually simply because I was physically attracted to them.
